Cobblemon Bosses are rare, powerful Pokémon that spawn in place of normal wild encounters. They hit harder than regular wilds, can roll shiny, and drop tier-scaled loot.

How They Spawn

Bosses replace a small fraction of wild spawns anywhere in the world. They're easy to spot once you see one:

  • Bigger model — bosses spawn at 5× normal size
  • Visible glow around the Pokémon
  • Always fully evolved — no Caterpies or Magikarps in disguise
  • Restricted ability pool — every boss has Unaware, Magic Bounce, Magic Guard, or Good as Gold. Plan around it (Mold Breaker, etc.)

Bosses can roll shiny on every tier.

Tiers

Once a boss is chosen to spawn, its tier is rolled from these weights. The level offset is added to the local wild base level.

A Legendary boss in a level-20 biome will spawn at level 100.

Loot by Tier

Each boss rolls twice from its tier loot pool.

Legendary bosses are the most reliable in-world source of Mega Stones outside of raids and the Vote Point shop — see Mega Evolution for the full list.

Battle Tips

  • Higher tiers hit hard — heal between attempts and bring type coverage for the boss's ability.
  • Boss encounters are wild fights — only one player can engage a given boss at a time, but anyone nearby can take their own crack at it.
  • The over-level rule scales boss strength to the area, so a Legendary boss in late-game biomes can easily reach the level cap.

For scheduled co-op boss fights instead of wild encounters, see Raids.
