Sniffers can dig up Cobblemon items alongside the vanilla plants. Each successful dig has a 60% chance to roll a Cobblemon drop on top of whatever flora the Sniffer would normally surface.
Getting a Sniffer
- Find a Sniffer egg by brushing suspicious sand in Warm Ocean Ruins.
- Place the egg on a warm block to hatch.
- Let the Sniffer roam on grass, dirt, or moss — it will dig automatically.
What you can dig up
The Cobblemon pool entries and their roll weights:
| Item | Weight | Per-dig share* |
|---|---|---|
| Relic Coin (1–4) | 45 | ~38% |
| Type Gem (any) | 15 | ~13% |
| Relic Coin Pouch | 12 | ~10% |
| Tumblestone (1–3) | 12 | ~10% |
| Black Tumblestone (1–3) | 9 | ~8% |
| Sky Tumblestone (1–3) | 9 | ~8% |
| Any single fossil | 1 each × 15 | ~13% combined |
*Share is within the 60% roll. Multiply by 0.6 for the overall per-dig odds.
The 15 fossils cover every revive: Helix, Dome, Old Amber, Root, Claw, Skull, Armor, Cover, Plume, Jaw, and Sail, plus the four Galarian fossils (Bird, Fish, Drake, and Dino).
A second, always-on roll can also turn up Vivichoke Seeds, Revival Herb, Mental / Power / Mirror / White Herb, Big Root, or Energy Root — alongside the sniffer's usual seeds and pods.
Passive farms
A fenced field with two or three Sniffers produces a steady stream of fossils, tumblestones, and Relic Coins while you do other things. Pair with a hopper run along the dig line and the drops collect themselves.
