The Night Market is a stall that opens for one stretch each evening, deals a small hand of face-down cards, and closes again. Flip a card to see what's behind it, and if you like it, buy it before the market shuts.
When it opens
Every night at 18:00 UTC, for six hours — it closes at midnight UTC.
Opening and closing are both announced in chat, so you don't have to watch the clock.
Outside those hours the stall stays where it is with its cards face-down, so you can go and look at it any time — but nothing can be revealed or bought until it opens, and the banner just reads "Opens daily at 18:00 UTC".
How it works
Run /nightmarket alias: /nm — no permission needed, it's open to everyone. /nightmarket gui opens the market as a menu and /nightmarket status tells you whether it's currently open.
The cards are yours alone. Every player gets their own hand of five each night — revealing or buying one doesn't touch anybody else's, and you're not racing other people for stock.
You need to be within 8 blocks of the stall to aim at a card, reveal it, or buy it. Clicking a revealed card opens a confirmation menu before any money moves.
Everything is paid for in Pokédollars.
What's on the cards
Four kinds of thing can turn up:
Pokémon
Sold to you directly, with you as the original trainer — from Eevee and Dratini up through the pseudo-legendary lines. Card fronts show level, nature, ability, gender, IVs, size, form and shininess.
Items
Nightly consumable deals and battle gear — ball bundles, held items and the like, priced against the regular shop so the rolled discount is a genuine saving.
Cosmetics
Permanent cosmetic and skin unlocks. The skin lines are deliberately the rarest thing the market can deal you.
Card packs
Trading-card booster packs — one per generation, plus the rarer elite and premium packs.
Most cards carry a stock of 1 — one card, one buy.
Rarity and discounts
Every card is dealt with a random discount off its base price, and the rarer the card, the smaller the discount — the good stuff is rarely also cheap.
| Rarity | Discount |
|---|---|
| Common | 25–40% |
| Uncommon | 20–35% |
| Rare | 15–30% |
| Epic | 10–25% |
| Legendary | 5–20% |
| Mythical | 5–15% |
At least one card in every hand is Rare or better — a bad night still has one thing worth looking at.
