PBG lets you customise your elytra with layered cosmetic effects — trim patterns, dye, banner overlays, glow, and more.
Elytra customisation
Elytra customisation layers several independent slots. Trim patterns, banner overlays, and special effects are all applied at the Smithing Table — place the elytra in the base slot and the matching item in the addition slot.

Dye colour works differently — combine the elytra with any dye in a crafting grid, same as dyeing other equipment.
All elytra customisations are cosmetic. Flight performance and durability are unaffected, and effects layer independently — you can combine a trim, a dye, and an effect on the same elytra.
